On the “chance me” threads, I always see people saying “your ECs are weak”
So what ECs are good?
Currently my ECs are:
FBLA, Science NHS, Hispanic NHS, Science Olympiad, Internship at a Museum, Volunteer Progam at a hospital, Student Council, Senior Beta
Are these ‘weak’? I want to go to HYPS and the like.
Read “How to be a High School Superstar” by Cal Newport. The best bet for those colleges are unique and interesting ECs with a high level of accomplishment. But there are literally hundreds and hundreds of great colleges besides those, look for your match & safety schools first.

Colleges do not rank your ECs based on strength… there is more to it than what you do. As long as you show passion and commitment for what you do, colleges will not look down upon your activities.
