<p>The financial aid officers can change the data in your FAFSA, using Professional Judgement. They probably found an error, and changed it. Go take a look at it online and see what they changed.</p>
<p>(or perhaps they didn't change your EFC, but they are a school that doesn't cover 100% of the difference between EFC and the cost of the college)</p>
<p>If you do have a 0 EFC, then you really need to find some schools that cover 100% of the family need. You are truly in a position where money is laying on the ground, waiting to be picked up.</p>
<p>Start by asking the financial aid office -- do they use the FAFSA or another method? </p>
<p>Check your FAFSA figures and double check them! There is a huge difference between 0 EFC and 11000 EFC and you should be able to find out what happened.</p>
<p>If it is just that the school does not cover 100% of need, find another school -- $44,000 in loans or more is a huge burden to graduate with!</p>
