ok this is going to be long, sorry :(

Background:

on the 1098t or whatever form u get from school stating the amount of tution paid (box1) and grants awarded (box 5), my values were 8892 and 18191 respectively. so according to the irs the 9300 difference is taxable income.
i also worked in the summer and my w2 says 3652

ok so i was filling out the students (me) financial info. i will file taxes for 2009 but havent yet

for the question about AGI (36) i put 12952 (9300+ 3652)
then for questions 37 and 38 i put zero because idk yet (ill fix later)
for 39 it says "how much did you earn from working in 2009 (wages, salaries, tips, etc)? so i put 3652
in 44d it says "Student grant and scholarship aid reported to the IRS in your adjusted gross income." so i put the 9300.

i click to the next page and then there is an error that says "you reported a total amt from the additional information fields that is high for the other income amounts reported"

what does this mean? i dont understand. does the etc in ques 39 also include taxable income like grants (so in my case the 9300)? idk someone please help!
Thanks.
