I just found out today that on the online application, it counts the word length of my essay and displays: Your answer exceeds the allowed length. Please edit your response. (in red, at the top)

My completely optional essay about my research paper started with 800 words, I cut it down to 600, but it still said it exceeded the allowed length. I found out that the exact word count for it to stop displaying the "Your answer exceeds the allowed length. Please edit your response." was 530 words, but there is also message that says: Check here to ignore errors and save data anyway. What does this mean??? What happens if I check that box to ingore errors and submit my application?? Does this mean that there is an exact cut-off in which the extra words on the online application are left out?

It's really hard for me to cut any more of the 600 words. Should I use the paper application instead? I also found that on the main essay, the word length could be a little over 1000 and it would not display the exceeded length message.

Help please!
