<p>Which one of these would be a better idea for an essay topic?
-The guitar player who inspired me and his influence on my character. Note: Don't worry, I'm not planning to ramble about how much I like his music, it would be mostly about his influence on me.
-A fictional character and the way he made me change my way of thinking. This one might be rather risky. Is it bad if it's from a fanfic written by an Artificial Intelligence researcher who often gives conferences at Harvard, Yale, etc?
-The way the negative impact of my "friends" in junior high helped define my identity.</p>
<p>Are these too cliche? I know that a good essay could be about almost anything if developed correctly, and I think I have many strong points to support each essay, but which one would be a better idea?</p>
