I'm starting to think about my essays/write them and I'm really stuck for a good topic for my main one. I was reading some of the forums, and I heard some good advice (stay away from sob stories, make it about you and something you're passionate about, etc.) and it's helped me rule out some topics, but I'm still stuck. I was thinking about writing about my time with the theater program at my school. I've participated in the play for my grade each year and I've even started managing the younger plays now that I'm older. Freshman year, deciding to do the play was incredibly hard for me, because I had never really been up on stage; it forced me out of my comfort zone, it gave me confidence I hadn't had before and it helped me meet some great people who I'm still friends with today. I'm positive that without them, I wouldn't be anything like the person I am today (much more open with my school's community, confident in my actions and speaking out, etc.)
The thing is though, is that I'm applying to science programs and schools. I'm not looking to continue anything really with theater in college. I'm not even good at it, honestly; I've never gotten a lead, and that's just how it is. I'm not a good actress. Is it still okay for me to write about that then?
Thanks so much for any advice!

I don’t think there’s any such thing as “okay” or “not okay.” If it’s affected you as a person and has changed you for the better, I’d say go for it.

Im having the same problem. let me know what you came up with :)
