Freshman year I went to the best high school in my home state and one of the best in the country. I left that year for personal reasons and transferred to an above average public school. My transcript doesn't show my old school, which I think may work against me because my grades freshman year were low due to the increased difficulty and lack of class weight which my new school has. I feel that if colleges knew where I went freshman year, they would view me in a better light. That being said, since my transcript won't tell where I went to school freshman year, where in all my application papers should I include where I went freshman year and how should I do it?

Have you seen a copy of your transcript?
Most transcripts will note where the grades came from if not from the same institution.
You would explain the context of those grades in the bonus section (“Is there anything else that you would like to add…”).
