help with fin aid

My FAFSA EC was about 2,500 but my fin aid package from U of R leaves me with $27,000 to come up with. I thought they met full need? I thought I was careful to apply to full need schools. I am the oldest of 5 and don't want my parents to take out another mortgage or draw from a small retirement account (penalties etc.) Maybe I messed up the CSS - should I call them or is that not welcome by the fin aid dept.?
Opinions??

Rochester meets full need, but as it calculates need using both FAFSA and Profile. (This, by the way, is not unusual. Sometimes the calculation comes out close to the FAFSA EFC, but often not.) Your FAFSA EFC looks like it would qualify you for a Pell grant from the federal government; was that included in your FA package?

Rochester definitely welcomes questions. You should feel free to contact the financial aid office; they were very helpful to us.

Pell grant $950 for each term. Thanks for your feedback -

I talked to a Fin. Aid officer and faxed my mother’s tax returns and they sent me an updated package. They were helpful for us also.
