Help with Finalizing the University

I am an international student and of all universities in which I got in I am confused between Purdue and Penn state university- University Park.

I want to go for Computer Engineering/Science course.

As ranking do not differ too much I need some points to differentiate both of them.

From what I’ve heard and read, I have an inclination towards PSU for the following reasons:

  • More established alumni network
  • More on campus and off campus internships/jobs
  • Athletics( I am much interested in soccer)
  • More lively campus
  • Good Minors (I want a minor in psychology and music)
  • More culturally active ( I am a drummer)
  • PSU parties too with more m/f ratio. (not the deciding point)
  • Engineering is almost the same (from what I’ve read).
  • Weather is the same ( IDK much abt it, though)

Things I want to know -

Am I missing any important point to consider between the comparison.
How is the outside university park campus as I’ve seen it’s in the middle of nowhere.

Your answers would be much appreciated. Any of your personal experience would be better.

You have listed SEVEN important pluses that PSU has over Purdue, form academics to campus life to sports! And you still want more? :expressionless:

The only factor that may overpower all those seven others is cost. If you can afford both, I see no reason why you should choose Purdue over PSU.

You seem to want Penn State. Penn State is a fine school, as is Purdue. You can’t really go wrong either way.

thank you for your answers. But I received UW madison acceptance 2 days ago and now I am hanging between PSU and UW madison

Madison is the best college town of these choices. The campus has a lot going on and so does the fun small city. There is a lot of music to see as well. My dd went there for grad school and joined a Brazilian drumming group called the Handphibians, they will teach anyone who wants to come and learn and they play a lot of fairs and festivals and headline Carnivale 2 nights each year. There is tons of music in that town.
