help with finding the right colleges please!!

hey, im a high school junior, my average this year is around a 92 so far...freshman and sophomore year it wasn't as good, more like a B or B-....I haven't taken the SATs yet but I'm prepping for them and I plan to take them and the ACTs more than once...taking about 3 APs next year...i have a few ex. curriculers lined up...

anyway, i'm really nervous about finding a college/getting accepted. obviously, i'm not gonna try for an ivy league or anything, but I was wondering if anyone could suggest to me some decent schools that would be a reasonable match. I live in NY and i wouldn't mind travelling a bit for school but i dont think ill want to go all the way across the country. I'm not sure what I want to study yet, probably english or maybe film studies.

Any suggestions please?????
Thank you!

Depending on SATs:

Ithaca
Syracuse
Buffalo
Various SUNY's

You have to give little more info about what you are looking for- big, small, LAC, city, rural, how far you might consider going, whether money an issue?
IF you are interested in midwest there are lots of great schools here that will be interested in you because of geographic distinction. Private schools usually somewhat less expensive than comparative schools at NE and might offer better scholarships.

Also, collegeboard.com has a good college matching system. Try that! :)

thanks...
yeah i'm not too concerned as to whether or not its a rural setting or a city, just looking more for a nice campus. money isnt TOO much of an issue since my family is fairly well-off. looking for a medium to big school. the midwest would probably be as far as i would travel, i was thinking michigan seemed like a good choice but i dont know how good my chances of getting in would be.

Michigan is really hard to get into out of state.

The strongest schools in English include: Bard, Skidmore, Dickinson, Colby, Rhodes, Macalester, Amherst, Connecticut College, Princeton, Kenyon, Vassar, Oberlin, Davidson, Mary Washington....

Strong film schools: Emerson, Burlington, Chapman, Ithaca, Calvin, Vassar...

Oberlin and Vassar are pretty strong in both.

Because you want a medium-sized school, Mary Washington, Oberlin, Chapman, Emerson, Dickinson, and Vassar are the larger schools on the list.

You might want to check out the University of Dayton. I graduated from there and loved it! Beautiful campus, medium size (about 6600 undergrads), English & film studies programs.
