Help with getting second semester books...

Son just received his booklist yesterday and I am attempting to find some of the books online or at Borders, etc. The ISBN numbers don't seem to match up- I think you should be able to find books outside the USC bookstore-any advice on where to look, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

I bought all my books online yesterday. The ISBN numbers in the booklist worked perfectly. Not sure why they wouldn't work for you. I looked the books up by ISBN number on AddAll.com and went for the best deals, usually found on Half.com, Amazon.com Marketplace, Abebooks.com, and TextbookX.com. And I also tried to find ones that were close to CA, so that they have a better chance of arriving before the semester starts.

I bought mine online yesterday also. half.com seems to have the best deals. As far as the isbn numbers, some sites will have a seven digit number instead of the normal ten, but its the same as the ten just without the first three

The problem we had was that there are only books listed for two courses and if you look up past syllabuses from the other classes, they list a book. I go between Half.com and Amazon.com to fond the best deal and had them shipped directly to the dorm. Even with media mail last fall, most came in a week. The teachers who teach the class know before xmass break what books they need. I think the bookstore purposely doesn't post it until the last minute so you need to buy from them timewise.

Thanks so much everyone for helping son locate books online.
Only problem he is having is with his physics class as the isbn number didn't match anywhere he checked with the bookstore and they said it was a special bundle for the class so I guess he's stuck buying it when he gets back to school. He did save a bunch at half.com so thanks again!!!!!!
