I have just recently received 3rd marking period grades and I have an A in every class except Algebra. My current 3rd marking period GPA is a 3.83. If I get an A in every class, including Algebra, this last marking period, will my GPA be a 4.0?

I believe you could if you can get a A+ for final period or/and final exam.

I don't think I can. I'll probably manage a B, since Algebra and Math have always been my weaker subjects.

It might be possible if you do well for the rest of the year. If finals constitute a large percentage (and you do well), there's a chance.

I hope there is. Thanks for the replies!

Olive, are there other subjects which you could get A+ in the final period? That may make your final gpa to 4.0.

I know I can get an A+ in all of my classes, except Algebra. That is the class I am most worried about, since I've never been good at Math.

Olive, does your school gives 4.33 for A+?

I am a freshman right now, so I have an unweighed GPA. The highest GPA for me right now is a 4.0.

Oh My God, I used to be in the same situation...I used to get C's and I even flunk our state's standerized math exam, back in middle school...HOWEVER, I ended up with the highest grade in my Algebra II class (99%, it became too easy). HOW? I got Cliff's Notes: Algebra II. This baby does miracles, it makes everything easier to understand, I went from the weak math student, to a math nerd. All in a couple of weeks. Look into it.

Thanks Gumball! It's nice that there is someone who understands my situation, since many people in College Confidential seem to be so strong in Math.

Yeah, I also used my new skills to get revenge on an old' buddy of mine. Back in Algebra I, he used wine, and get all the "you're the smartest in the class" attention. One summer later, all of that pertained to me (without the wining), I seemed like a 'wise-ass', and I OWN3D his ass in math...I basically smoked all of the students in math, I didn't wine or rubbed it in his face, I call it karma.

My situation is similar. There is this guy in my class who is my biggest competition, and he is the top student in Algebra. It's hard to believe, but not to long ago that used to be me. At the beginning of the school year, Algebra was much more easier than it is now. I now find myself struggling to keep up. It also doesn't help that I have a test tomorrow and I don't get how to do some of the problems. Well, I think it's time to go study. Hopefully, I'll do good tomorrow.

Once again, thanks for the replies!

Look into math forums if there's a problem you do not understand. The tutors will help you out.

duH? But depends if you're taking honors or not

and algebra's easy, what's wrong with you?

ChemNerd, it may be easy for you, but it's not for me. I've already mentioned that Math has always been my weakest subject. Also, yes I am taking Honors classes.

this problem isn't the only thing u need help w/

no she isn't shes lying to u shes barely passing her classes

i was just kidding i don't even know her
