I think this blog helps

The 6-Pack is a collection of 6 separate buildings (Forbes, Garner, Hopkins, Weston, Scott, and Snyder). The buildings are roughly arranged around a circle, and they're VERY close (about 100 yards) to each other, and each building is virtually identical to the others.

So, if they're arranged in a circle, then there are 2 dining halls in the middle of the circle. Gregory Dining Hall (connected to forbes, hopkins, and garner), and Peabody Dining Hall (connected to Weston, Snyder, and Scott). The Gregory Dining Hall is the one that has late night cafe.

Here are some general tips:
- Garner, Snyder, and Weston are closest to Quad. Hopkins, Forbes, and Scott are farthest from the Quad.
- If you simply want the dorm closest to the quad, it is Weston, followed by Garner.
- Forbes and Hopkins face the playing fields, Scott and Snyder face the IMPE Rec Center.
- Garner and Weston are currently facing a field undergoing major construction.
- Under the 2 Dining Halls are underground corridors with a library, workout room, laundry room, study rooms, etc.

The 6-Pack isn't any busier than any other dorms on campus. The only thing I've noticed is that the halls in the 6-Pack tend to be pretty loud, and the people who live in the 6-Pack tend to be mainly athletic people or Greek kids.

Hi guys, general question:

On the housing application, can you pick which specifc hall you want e.g weston, synder etc if you're applying for the pack or is it just Gregory Drive or Peabody drive?

Thanks!

nope,
You can just apply to greogory drive or peabody drive...not completely sure though cuz i applied to LLCs so I had different options
Another question though...
If i paid my deposit on April 15th -ish, what are the chances that i get into atleast one of my preferences?

Hey, this question is for my friend enrolling in UIUC this fall.
He's a liberal guy, plays the guitare and loves music. He feels his personality is a lot like the guys in the Allen Hall. But since he's going to major in engineering, his major is gonna be different to most of the guys there majoring in arts. He just wants to know if it's gonna be fine? Will he be looked down upon by the others?

no he will not be
