i've been in my school's science research program since 9th grade. however i have only been researching in a university lab since the summer of 10th grade. I can easily say that I've put so many more hours into research in 11th grade than in 9th grade.

what should i do with weeks/hr, weeks/yr?

what should i do with the box that says school year, and the box that says summer?

even tho i have taken science research course in 9th and 10th grade, i still had to do research & reading outside of school.

so which boxes do i select out of 9,10,11,12?

idk if this will help but research is my biggest EC and i devote the most time to it.

anybodyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?

Well, youre going to have to distinguish between the research you do with your school’s science research program and the research you do at a university lab, especially if your are researching or studying two different topics and doing different research projects. Once you distinguish between these 2 research jobs, you can state in an attached sheet or in the “More information” in the writing portion of the application that you spent more time in the lab this year than you did that year. Put check any box that applies. If you did that activity in 9th and 11th grade, check 9 and 11 and if you did it over the summer check over the summer. Lets say in 9th grade you did 5 hours/week and in 11th you did 15 hours per week, find the avg of both and just put down 10 hours/week.

problem solved

yeah seriously just estimate according to what the above poster said
and then in the additional info section, you can either
a) upload a resume with a more detailed description/breakdown of your research, or
b) upload a paragraph-form explanation of your research and what exactly you did.
