I had a job interview today at Panera. When the interview was almost done he told me I was a little soft-spoken, and that I wasn't really telling him "who I am", like in a deeper sense. He set me up with another interview with his manager in two days.

what should I say/do to improve my chances of being hired

Easier said than done, but just try to convey your passion about working. Think about the reasons about why you want the job, and try to drum up some enthusiasm during the interview. Let the nerves go away, and any pressure whatsoever, and just really talk to the manager. Try to convey a little bit of your personality- don’t seem dull, or just like another teenager. What makes you stand out from the horde of other applicants?

I have a job interview tomorrow, so I’m nervous as well!! Good luck! <3

when i went to my first job interviews i hadn’t brushed my teeth in over a week. remember to brush your teeth!

As @omgmakemesmarter has pointed out, brushing your teeth is important. So is wearing clothes. Don’t forget to wear clothes. I speak from experience.

Jkjk I have no real experience applying for a job.

When I try to seem like I have a good personality (this implies that I don’t have a good personality), I try to appear very “zesty”, for lack of a better word. Essentially, I talk both politely and boldly. Act like you have command of the room and that the job is already yours. The interview is just a formality! :)

Thanks for the tips guys. I also have another interview at a different place tomorrow, and then the second interview at Panera is on sunday. The interviewer today said I wasn’t really an outspoken person, I need to speak up especially if I’m going to be calling out names of peoples and their orders and stuff. I’ll have to try to convey that to the manager at the interview sunday
