Help with junior/senior year schedule!

There are so many options.. I am going insane!

Will Take
IB English III
IB Economics
IB US History
IB Physics
Pre-IB Pre-Calc
Pre-IB French III

Should I take (.. either one or two?)
ROTC 3 (I do not do it because of the military stuff and plan to not continue with it during college but cuz of leadership, physical training part, and… it looks good on an AP. It will, however, lower my GPA like no other)
AP Statistics
AP Psychology (one semester)
IB Computer Science 1

Will Take
IB English IV
IB French IV
IB Calculus
IB Biology (double blocked) (or should I take IB World Area Studies instead and computer science 2?)
IB Theory of Knoledge

Should I take.. (either one or two?)
ROTC 4
Creative Writing (I am in love with writing.. that would be a treat at second semester so it doesn’t affect my rank that much)
One of the courses that I could have taken junior year.
Journalism

MY GOALS:
- Get a good ranking/good GPA
- Go to college.. possibly with some type of merit scholarship as I have no fund for college.
- I want to be a psychologist, maybe also journalism

Taking this into account...

Take Psych your junior year, creative writing and journalism your senior.

hey, thanks! that is really what I want to do.. but problem is, along with ROTC, these regular classes will lower my GPA - unlike AP Statistics and such.

do you think that I should take ROTC if I have no military inclination?

No. ROTC is just something to fill a PE requirement or a jumping off to college ROTC. Since you say you have no military inclination, don't do it.

Also, since the unweighted creative writing / journalism classes are on your senior year, they really shouldn't impact college application GPA calculations.

And won't AP Psych be weighted?

yeah, it will :) that was just about journalism and CW..
but wouldnt rotc look good since i spend so much time on it as an extracurricular?

margsala - Others on this board will have more expert recommendations overall. But one thing stands out to my mind - you love writing, so take that Creative Writing class.

AP Psych is fun, my son is really having a blast in it this year, and I agree with other other posters - take creative writing. In general, colleges LOVE good writers and you will get a pleased nod because you took it as an elective, demonstrating that it is important to you.

Thank you everybody for your advice.
Sometimes it is nice to take courses I like instead of courses I (think) colleges want me to take. Or at least 2 or 3 of the nice and fun courses :)
