Hey there, I'm in need of some advice when it comes to scheduling for junior year. :P

Now, I'm trying to find a schedule that will be rigorous, but not soul-eating. One that looks impressive enough but won't consume my life entirely ... a happy medium, hopefully. So far, I've had a high GPA without too much trouble.

Grade nine:
H. bio/lab
H.English
H. Alg II
H US history
H. Spanish III

Grade 10:
H. Chem
H. English
H. Trig
AP european history
art history/comparative philosophy/drawing/painting/photography

Grade 11:
????? need advice on science
H. English
AP calc BC
H. history
AP art
CAD courses

Grade 12:
???? science
H. English
AP stat
AP psych
AP art
H. Architecture

I'm a sophomore right now, and this is what my tentative schedule looks like.

Does it look too rigorous, too easy, a happy medium ... why?

How would you change it? Would you swap out any classes for a higher or lower level or change the year I take it in?

When it comes to science, I could take H. Physics then CHS physics, or any combination of AP chem/AP bio/H. Physics. If possible I want to include AP bio because I'm really interested in it. What are your recommendations?

I'm not sure what field I'm going into ... maybe architecture/industrial design/psychology .... but I do know I want to go to a prestigious college. Any advice?

Please review, sorry its such a long post! I'm open to all advice :)

14 people have already seen this … I could really have used those 14 opinions, guys :P

Overall it doesn’t look TOO hard, but it’s challenging. Also in your 11th grade schedule you have Honors History yet you took AP Euro, is there any other AP history classes you could take? If you are really interested in Biology, take AP Biology. One friend of mine said that AP Biology is REALLY fun. In 12th grade you should take AP Chemistry, b/c I see a lot of people take it their senior year. Sorry for not answering everything, this is what I have right now :)

AP Euro this year isn’t that great. I’m getting an A, but I’m not planning to go into that field, I find it boring, and the hardest AP at our school. Does that make sense that I’d rather drop down to the honors and take an AP in another subject?

Thank you for the advice!

If architecture is a possibility (not at all certain) do you think it would hurt me if I didn’t take at least an introductory physics?

Your Welcome :)

If you want to take a lower history class, sure go ahead. I don’t really see any harm. It’s just odd lol.

In the field of architecture you need some form of physics in college. I will take at least one physics class in high school or possibly an AP Physics class. It seems like you’re pretty strong in math, so I think you won’t have major problems in a physics class.

The thing is, If I’m going to take AP physics (dual enrollment CHS crap) I have to take the introductory course as a junior … will it be okay if I just take the introductory course as a senior?

Sure. There’s no need to rush. I wish I waited. I took Physics my freshman year… the worst decision of my life, I ended up with a C.
