Help with letter from USMA?

I got a letter today telling me that I have been nominated for USAFA and USMA from my congressman. I also received a letter from West Point. This is the reason for the thread. It sounds like a 3'qd letter but im not sure.

"The admissions office has recieved all your information and the admissions committe has reviewed your application and you have been found fully qualified. Although fully qualified, we have not yet recieved a nomination for you."

It goes on about nominations reaching WP 4-6 weeks after i am notified. no offer of admisision possible without nomination. They say to keep updating my file, and send 7th semester transcript.

But can someone explain the fully qualified part. Is this a 3'qd letter? Since I got the nomination will i get Appointed?

Thanks in advance

Yes, this is a 3Q letter. (My son got one also.) He has not received a letter from USMA about his nomination, but it showed on his Candidate Login page that he had a nomination even before he was notified by his MOC. You should check there often for updates. You are getting closer to an appointment--good luck to you.

If it is a Principal nomination, the appointment is guaranteed as you are now 3Q'd.

Wow! thats awesome, Im going to call the congressmans office to see what method he uses.

Being triple-q'd and having a nomination is still no guarantee of receiving an appointment unless you have an LOA. You're now in the pool of candidates who will receive appointments, though, and that's a great place to be.

Good luck!!

Unless the nomination is a principal nomination. Then, by law, the appointment MUST be given if the candidate is 3q'd.

Wow, thanks for the help, he already left after I called right after I got home. Ill try again tomorrow

Luigi,

Thanks for repeating the info about the principal nom. I was merely adding to your prior post.

fb114,

Looking forward to hearing more good news from you...
