Hi, I need some advice on my major. I'm currently just a Management major, but Ive been considering Accounting or MIS. I cant decide the right path to take given my situations.

For one, I'm 30 yrs old. I returned to school 3 years ago because my job at the time paid for it. I project Ill graduate at 32 (I got 1.5-2 yrs left). I honestly started back because I just wanted a good job, and they paid for management type degrees. However, Im starting to feel I would like to do something like MIS because I simply love IT stuff and whatnot. It feels easier to assimilate, and seems more enjoyable. I also looked at accounting, because I enjoy math, did very well in the entry level classes, and the job prospects seem better.

My current advisor told me to stick with management, because the accountant majors are having to finish up CPAs/get more schooling to get a job in the area, and the MIS would probably cause me to have to move off (I kinda wanted to stay near my area). He said business management would give a lot more job opportunities in my area.

I mean on a basic level, I just want to be able to get a good job after graduation. I busted my rear in a mill for 9 years, 12 hours a day, that my priorities changed to just wanting a good 9 to 5 job. However, on another level I want to enjoy my job, or make the most of it.

Heh, if I had my way, I would have been a High school Math teacher, but I took business calc and business classes, etc. and at 30 changing to a normal major is out of the question.

Any ideas? I pretty much got till the end of this semester to make my choice, since at the moment I'm just taking generic upper level courses. I'll have to start taking pre-req courses in spring.
