I am currently a senior in high school who recently just submited my college apps. I've been having trouble with choosing my major. I chose a biology major, but i want to switch to engineering, but i have heard of the many horrors of engineering in college. What should I do?

don’t just decide to be a bio major because you think it will be easier than engineering.

do what you’re passionate about because almost every major has a few classes that everyone dreads

also, for some schools the lower level bio major classes sometimes cross over with the lower level engineering courses. you could take the courses like these your first semester to give you more time to decide.

also, you might want to ask about the engineering “horrors”-were they upper level math classes? chemistry classes? because those are all courses bio majors usually have to take too

Did you apply to any colleges that require applicants to apply to the engineering school separately from the school with the biology program (arts and sciences, usually)? That might be a problem.

Why do you want to switch to engineering?

I think Texas AM, but im not sure. I’ve been contemplating on majoring in engineering as It seems more interesting, but my parents have been forcing me to stick in the medical field

We are related.

I just know it

2200andbeyondXD lol how?

Going I a medical route just because your parents want it is not going to end well. If engineering is what YOU want to do, go for it.
Engineering is a difficult major and you will have to put in a lot of work, but it’s not a death trap. You hear the horror stories from those who had an awful experience. You don’t hear dramatic stories about people who did fine. If you are a decently strong math and science student with a good work ethic, engineering should be doable.
