Help with my application predicament for Haas.

Here's the deal:

I'm entirely on track for Haas at Cal. As many of you know, Haas has unique and very specific prerequisites that don't really help me much when applying to other majors at other campuses (UCLA specifically).

So, I have a very Haas-specific academic record so far. 90% of prereq's done with a 4.0 at SMC. Full-time Product Manager at Sony Pictures with 3+ years real-world corporate work experience. I've also founded several LLP's and a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. Strong leadership track record.

I presume that I have a solid chance at Haas, but it would be prudent of me to apply to other campuses. Since there's no UGBA at UCLA or UCSB, this means that I need to apply to another major.

I'm confident that I can write a compelling personal statement for Haas. The problem lies in the "backup plan". My backup major is Cognitive Science at UCLA, but again I'd be missing several of the prereq classes for this major. To try to compensate for this, I'd want to explain the circumstances to UCLA in my statement. To pull this off, I'd need to submit one personal statement to UCB (super Haas-focused. Hoo rah) and another to UCLA / UCSB (explaining / compensating for my Haas-focus and emphasizing my eclectic and polymathic / autodidactic nature).

Now, here's the meat of my question: Is there any way to submit alternative personal statements to each campus?

Thanks for your help CC!

No. I just went to a application workshop hosted by Berkeley reps and someone asked that same question. The Berkeley reps said you just have to find some creative way to pull those two majors together in your personal Statement.

That's what I was afraid of. Thanks for your help, Dude.

Congrats on your acheivements. I think you have a really great shot at Haas...best of luck to you!

Why do you want to do Cognitive Science at UCLA? You probably can better tailor your essay for both Haas and UCLA if you pick a major such as Biz Econ at UCLA.
