I'm finishing up my EDI app to Vassar and have a few questions about the app.

First off, I've written two very good essays; one is introspective, perhaps more serious. The other is more humorous and reflective of me. No matter who I show them to, no one can ever decide on a singular favorite, though most find the humorous one to be "unique" and therefore, perhaps a more interesting essay to send to a college. Do you think I should send in one or both essays?

Secondly...Ok, this will require some context first. I love everything about Vassar, something that is clear in making an ED app, so I don't really want to harp on how fantastic the place is in the Vassar common app question that asks "What aspects of our college do you find appealing," etc etc. Sure, I'll mention some of Vassar's academic and extracurricular offerings that draw me to the school, but I thought I could present a more unique discussion. One thing I think is quite interesting about Vassar is, oddly enough, the fact they serve tea in the rose parlor. I can tell you that my humorous essay is about my different tastes in tea, and how those tastes describe me. I plan on sending, as part of my YourSpace supplement, a ziplock bag of tea bags.

Weird. I know. But do you think by having an essay about tea, mentioning Vassar's fine academics and tea room, and sending in tea bags might be a bit much? I'm honestly trying to come off as a human being, not just another Vassar hopeful with stellar scores and the like. As an alternative, I've written another supplemental short essay about my experience visiting. It will be like a narrative.

Lastly, in my YourSpace, though I plan to send tea bags, I also plan to elaborate on why some grades are lower than others in my transcript. Can I do these two very different things in one yourspace submission?

Wow...Thanks for reading that lengthy post, and for surviving my eccentricities.

Oh, and how long should the why vassar essay be? like, 300 words?
