I am planning to major in economics while double majoring or minoring in math or foreign languages. I would like to go to grad school and pursue an MBA or a different master's, maybe even a doctorate eventually.

Bolded are schools I definitely know I want to apply to. Others I am going to visit or do more research on (Cal) to see if I would really fit.

If UW, Mich, or BC is a safety for me, then I won't need any more safeties right? I don't want to apply to more than 10 schools, so if I get into UW or Mich early, all the other apps will be for reaches. With that said, will I need another safety school? And, is this a decent list?

great list…if you add Tulane (as your safety) and apply VERY EARLY, you will be all set…

Just protecting you since I don’t consider UW, UMich or BC as safeties…but that’s prob just me…

You prob won’t even have to worry past Northwestern ED as IMO great applicant…

Wow! Great applicant and list. BC, U Mich aren’t safeties though. My son is heading to UVA and had same SAT scores, NMF (notified UVa, so I think it helps), but he did not have your GPA (!). I’m partial to UVa :). I think you’ll do very well in admissions, and especially with a talent for writing. I would start to focus on the essays, and visits. Great list and good luck with Northwestern!

I was speechless after looking at ur scores and…yea ur college list is pretty much set. It wouldn’t hurt to add another safety school…just in case!! Btw, I’m a rising senior and I was wondering how in the world did u get extremely high scores? Did u study a lot? If so, do u mind telling me what books u used for the ACT and SAT? Thanks!!

If you can afford those OOS schools then you should be fine for your list.

Somebody threw out Tulane as a possible safety. Any other schools you think I would like that I can use as safeties?

If you want to major in econ, why not have the University of Chicago on your list?

Miami of Ohio would be a good safety.

2 questions now:

1) I will need probably one super safety…any ideas? Throw out schools and I’ll look into them tomorrow.

2) This one will be hard to help with, but just based on the quick profile and the schools on my list, which do you feel are most out of place and I probably won’t enjoy it? I am going to visit most of them and I’ll base my list off the visits, but any guidance would be appreciated!

Use a state school as a super safety that will also be an economical safety?

Your home state big U.

UW and Villanova should be safeties for you.

If you want to add another safety, either Rutgers or TCNJ, depending on which size of a school you would prefer.

Pitt is another safety that comes to mind. They have good merit aid, and rolling admissions.

Apply early to any of the EA or rolling schools. Once you have an acceptance in hand, you won’t have to worry about about safeties, and can concentrate on reaches.
