Help with my predicament??

hi i am going to be transferring in the fall of 2014 and am beginning to look at schools to transfer to. i am from long island, NY and plan on attending to a school in realistic driving distance. i have narrowed my search down to these schools and was wondering if there were any schools comparable to these. Quinnipiac, Temple, Lehigh,Drexel, and university of Vermont. i was wondering if these are party schools as well seeing as how that is the reason I'm leaving my current school now due to the lack of atmosphere and activity going on. thank you in advance

Let me get this straight. You are unhappy with your current college/university because life there is so dull. Nothing wrong with your classes. Nothing wrong with the cost. The issue is that life is dull. And you want to go somewhere so that you can party? Have you explained to your parents or whoever else is helping you pay for your education that your reason for changing colleges/universities is not to seek a superior educational experience, or to get an equivalent education for less money, but rather to have more fun?

Please.

Come up with solid academic and/or financial reasons for this transfer. Look at the programs at the places that you have identified as being possible target institutions. Run the Net Price Calculator at each website and discuss the money issues with your parents (or whoever it is who is helping you pay). Check out the statistics at each institution for transfers. Then go pay a visit to the places that still look better than where you are now.

And if you truly feel like you’d rather be having fun than studying, that’s OK too. Take a leave of absence, get a job, work for a while and enjoy your life. College will still be there when you are ready to get serious about learning.

I can’t tell if you are looking for a party school or trying to avoid one, can you clarify?

Are you looking for a college with a vibrant, non commuter type atmosphere?

actually yes to the first response i am looking to leave for that reason, college is supposed to be the best time of your life and i feel personally that i am not experiencing that here at st johns. to the second i am not looking for a syracuse, wvu, miami huge party school i am just looking for a place with size equivalent to the schools i listed that actually party and have fun on the weekend. i cannot sit in my dorm any longer non active . it is not because i am not outgoing or not trying to make the best of it, it is just the options of going out are redundant and it is a huge commuter school

I have this theory that EVERY school is a party school. You just have to find the party. Get out…get involved…join the clubs that are even remotely interesting.

By the same token - EVERY school can be dull and lifeless and EVERY school can be studious. There are people like you in most every school in America - sometimes it is just hard to find them in the first month or two.
