I have been looking for college options for a while now and I already have a list of 9 schools I want to apply to; however, I am having a bit of trouble choosing my "SAFE PICKS" (in the forums people recomend applying to 10 schools, and to have 2 safe choices in the list... the non-audition admissions).
I'm looking to get a BFA in theater/acting (although safe picks are probably all BA, right?). Could anyone please read my information and recomend some schools I could surely get into, but of course I still want them to be as good as possible.

Some info:
3.7 GPA
1600 SAT (must bring that score up, I'll be taking it again)
620 TOEFL (the paper based one)
And I'm from Mexico

My ideal would be a conservatory-like training (though the safe choices may not be conservatory-like). If you also have some unexpensive options that would be great (some cheap safe choices would be great).

Hope you have suggestions kylebelievers! Thanks!

Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, NY - just outside NYC, It’s a BA, but a great interdisciplinary Theatre major; can pick and choose classes you’d like. Does not allow applicants to send SAT, so you wouldn’t have to worry about that 1600.

From what I have heard, Sarah Lawrence is not a great choice for people who mainly want to act. It an excellent liberal arts school with an emphasis in writing and a good theater department for its size but it is very small and very academic.
