so i am an incoming freshman majoring in mechanical engineering and i am in need of assistance with my schedule as i want to have an idea of what to take before orientation, which is next week.

so the outline of what i should take in the engineering book is:

Math, physics, and chemistry is fine for first quarter. But ....

If you feel like you will need to get used to college, then take a GE for your 3rd class.

If you feel prepared and want to "catch up", then take Physics 1A. When I write "catch up", I mean that you are slightly behind since you're starting with Math 31A as a ME. You will need to follow the curriculum closely if you want to graduate in 4 years. The load and difficulty is nothing at all compared to what you will see later (MAE 107/L, MAE 105D. MAE 171A, etc.) Most should be somewhat of a review of your AP courses.

If you don't plan on taking any summer school, plan to have a year with an average of less than 4 classes, study abroad, fail a class, register late and can't get a class, then you will not graduate in 4 years. But if you're planning to take more time than that or won't do any of the above (yes, there are double negatives), then disregard what I just type and follow what backlash224 said.

I think your schedule is fine, I did Chem 20BH, 20L, EC3, and Math 32A in the same quarter and I did well in them. As for your AP scores, no, they won't get you out of anything.
