thanx

You shouldn't the SAT so many times; that looks bad in your application. You should prepare well and wait until you are sure you will give your best, then take the test. And if you want chances, you must give us much more information about you and the colleges you want to apply to. Also tell us whether you need financial aid.

i dont need any financial aid or any of that
i just wanna know what r my chances of being accepted abroad i wanna major in medicine i dont have any universities in mind but i know that my SAT score is low ill try to make it better .
i also wanted to know what score will be considered perfect regarding an international student
i dont suck in english but its just that everything is different in american schools

English is my second language too, and the only time I took the SAT I scored 2100 (800 CR, 630 M, 670 W), which is not high for College Confidential's standards. Here you'd find many people with 2200+ scores, even some with 2400. But take into account that most people here is applying to extremely selective colleges, and that the SAT is only a part of the application. Anyway, you should prepare for it well, and don't forget to prepare for the SAT Subjects Tests too.

There is no way I can tell your chances by knowing your SAT scores only, which are not even definite. Please say more about you. And I think it's very important to aim at a particular style of college. What kind of university you'd like? public or private? big or small? liberal or conservative? with warm weather or cool weather? Etc.

well you need to tdo TOEFL IBT, since your international and you also need a lot of ecs... try to do things tha might get you to medical carrer...well if you are really interested in it.. you can make research oor i dont much of studyin medicine because i dont like it at all... but i think the maynly thing is to add ecs that will help you in the road to a medicine carrer...

I would also need more information about you as well as what types of colleges you want to apply to, but I don't think colleges will really cut people any slack for having English as a second language because there are so many internationals who are fluent in English as a second language.

take the ACT... some people find it easier than the SAT (at least I did). Plus, the good thing about the ACT is you get to choose whihc scores to send to colleges, sometyhing you cant do with the SAT. Best of luck.

In America, you can't major in medicine. I think you should know that most American colleges are liberal arts.

And I think since you are obviously not good at the SAT, consider taking the ACT. Study well for it and make sure you get a good score first time round.

Okay um... I'm sorry but the stuff about not taking the SAT too many times is totally crap.. I took the SAT 4 times AND the ACT 5 times and I got into all 8 colleges I applied to with nice scholarships including Tulane(18k per year) and International University of Bremen (sister to Rice)(13k a year). I would also like to mention I only got high scores the last time I took the the ACT and the SAT.
Actually in the US you are encouraged to take it as many times as you can colleges don't care.
Another fact... even at most liberal arts colleges they offer pre-med majors that you take along with Biology or other things like that and they help to prepare you for the MCAT or the medical school exam. For medical school you will probably have to go to a state school but they are good schools.
As far as getting accepted there are definately schools in the US you can get accepted to. Granted they are probably not ivies but for medical those are probably not your best bet anyway. I would check into some state schools that offer garanteed acceptance into their med school programs if you keep a certain GPA. That way the MCAT pressure is off.
Anyway best of luck!

Harvard, the only college answering this question as far as I know, cares:

"*Does Harvard consider scores from previous administrations of the SAT I, ACT or SAT II?
Yes.
*If a student takes the required tests more than once, which results does Harvard consider?
We consider a student's best test scores, but it is generally our experience that taking tests more than twice offers diminishing returns."

ice_sickle: it's kinda obvious how taking the SAT more than 2 times shows that you are not capable of getting a high score the first time around. 4 or 5 times is much too excessive I think.

Sorry but as I said before most of my friends have taken it 4 or 5 times and they one got into Stanford and the other Brown... not to mention my own experience. So I will disagree.
