<p>Here’s the thing - the Why Duke essay is an opinion piece, but one requiring some research. We are asking, literally, Why Duke. Not why Duke should consider you - rather, why are you considering Duke? Why would you, with, almost definitely, a host of options choose to come to Duke other all those other opportunities? What have <em>you</em> discovered about us and about you that makes you believe we are worthy of you?</p>

<p>I am currently trying to write my Why Duke essay and I am also experiencing the struggle of writing a strong essay that fits the word limit. Is anybody here willing to read over mine too?</p>
<p>I wrote a similar essay for another university but the word limit was 250 words. So I trimmed that other essay down and changed the other university’s name to Duke University. Then I also added some specific information about Duke which took me less than 3min to find using google and I had my essay :)</p>
<p>You could try the same thing (assuming you did another similar essay before)</p>
