Hi, I just got my letter of acceptance to Northeastern as a Computer Science major and I was surprised when I saw that the enrollment deposit date was May 1st. The other schools I applied to were Maryland, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, and Pitt (which are all out-of-state for me). Out of these, only Maryland sends out decisions earlier than May 1st and VT sends them out exactly on May 1st. I'm really gunning for Georgia Tech, especially because it's not 24+ hours away, 37k a year, and socioeconomically heterogenous; however, GIT said a decision will be made on my application once I send my final transcript which will be available May 8th at the earliest. :(

My gpa is a 3.39 and my current semester will likely be a neat 4.0 bringing my final cumulative to 3.5. Do you think I should wait? Is there anything I can do to speed the process up? Would it be wise to accept admission to the school I've ranked the highest, and then, if GIT offers admission, inform the other school that I'm not attending anymore? I've heard both stories: it's either accepted and harmless or absolutely reprehensible and you can get in serious trouble.

Also, which co-op program do you know to be more successful? Maryland's, Northeastern's, or Georgia Tech's?
