HI my name is Greg and i am not sure whether or not i have been rejected from Penn State University park, my academic information is as follows:
GPA- 3.5 (weighted)
SAT- 1760
I have taken honors/accelerated courses throughout my high school years with the exception of 3 AP courses and i have won 3 regional writing awards and 3 regional science awards (i am also aware that penn state cares about none of this).

I have been accepted to York College of Pennsylvania (with scholarship), Bloomsburg University, and The University of Scranton.

However tonight i checked my "My Penn State" profile and reacted rather ecstatically to the words "Congratulations on your acceptance to Penn State!" but...

upon closer inspection i saw that i had actually been accepted to my second choice campus, Penn State Hazelton.

My problem is that i have no idea whether or not i have been rejected from PSU U Park, for now i am assuming that i have been rejected in order to avoid false hope but i cannot find the answer anywhere.
It is late, i am tired, i want to go to bed, can anybody tell me whether or not an acceptance to your second choice campus means rejection from your first?

I did not apply for summer session at U park, would that have effected my admission?

Also i recieved a letter in early december informing me that a final decision on my application would be made by January 31st, is it possible that no decision has yet been made on my U Park application status?

any help would be appreciated, i am still very confused

also when you say Penn State forum, did me mean an area on this website which i did not see?

You only get accepted for one campus, so if you put UPark as your first choice and Hazleton as your second, you would get accepted for Hazleton if you don’t make the cut for UPark. But you wouldn’t get in both.

I would wait until you get your official acceptance in the mail (which should be within another day or two, if your online status has already been updated). That notice will tell you exactly which campus you’ve been accepted at.

Thank you VERY much for the help, this has cleared up my issue and it is just as i suspected. I have heard the U Park only accepted 5,000 out of 77,000 applicants so its not too disheartening, and i do have fallback plans. However overall i think that Penn State could have handled this process much better, its been about 12 hours since checking my status and im just now finding out that i was rejected

you might want to call PSU though, because Ive heard of a bunch of people who got rejected from UP and then called explaining why they wanted to go their so badly, and were then given admission to UP. Its definitely no guarantee, but if you really want to go to PSU its worth a call.
