I'm planning to transfer to (hopefully) Cal but I can't decide on a major to apply as. I don't know what I want to do, but I like writing, philosophy, history, and current events. I've narrowed it down to Anthropology, Media Studies, Political Science, Peace and Conflict Studies, Comparative Literature, and Rhetoric. I'm looking for a major that would combine my love of writing with some real-world knowledge and skills. I don't plan on teaching if I can help it. I've been on the Berkeley website, and I'm finding it hard to get a feel for the programs and whether any would be a good fit for me. Anyone taking one of these majors? What sort of stuff do you study? Is there a lot of math/reading involved? How hard is it to get into the program?

Oh, and also if any of those involve foreign languages, that would be cool.
