Syracuse asks applicants to answer four questions, but doesn't give a word limit or anything. I've written 60-100 word responses for each. Is this too short? I'm not sure if they want short and sweet responses or four essays.

As for the infamous Pitzer prompt, my question is how on Earth should I approach this? If anyone has a suggestion, I would REALLY appreciate it. I'm close to removing it from my supplement list.

Here it is:

Founded in 1963, Pitzer College was built upon four core values that reimagine the purpose of a college education in a progressively changing world. These values are social responsibility, intercultural understanding, interdisciplinary learning and student autonomy. Almost 50 years later, our students feel that our founding values help prepare them to address the issues of their time. How do you feel these values will help you find solutions to the evolving challenges of your generation? (Maximum of 4000 characters)

Thanks in advance! I would really appreciate advice.

Ugh. I need to write my Pitzer essay too. Only three more days to come up with some brilliant idea… great…

The Pitzer prompt asks you to think about the values that guide the college and put those in dialogue with what you think are the important issues of the day. So to start this essay you would need to come up with what you think are the important issues. Like most good prompts for college essays, this one asks that you think a bit. You may need to come up with two or three answers before hitting on the one that works best.

Thanks! I’m still not sure how long to make my Syracuse answers.

i’m applying to syracuse as well and i’m really stuck on how to do this too! but since they’re asking 4 questions (not just one supplemental essay like cornell for example) i’m assuming tthey want it to be around 150-250 words max?
i’m so dead.

Syracuse is only looking for a paragraph each I think…I’m having a lot of trouble with the Pitzer essay! It’s my most challenging one…

For those who are applying to Syracuse, it keeps asking me to answer the question for the second choice major, but I don’t know where it is! I’m so confused.
