No one can fix this but you. Get a tutor, get study guides, watch test prep videos, read through threads on the ACT forum.
Agreed with Lindagaf. Don’t lose hope, though, it’s super possible - I made an 8 point score increase as well in about a month and a half. Gl !
You know what you have to do. Like the others said, take a prep class and study. If you can afford it, hire a one-on-one tutor to help you figure out which areas you need to work on and to go over testing strategies that will maximize your score…
Studying may help but you don’t know what wil be on the test. You could feel you studied the wrong thing. Take practice tests following rules exactly. Of things you could do with the potential for improvement is working on test taking strategies, learn time management, have materials in place for the test day, and such.
Practice Practice Practice. During the week, do one or two practice tests every other night or so. Do a full length practice on the weekends. Review your incorrect answers. Rinse and repeat. Practice tests are online and books can be borrowed from your local library.
the practice books really help out with the material
If you find that the fast timing of the ACT is a big problem for you, you should try the SAT. The SAT has more time per question, although it has a reputation for being less straightforward than the ACT. There are free official SAT practice tests available on the College Board and Khan Academy websites.
