I've had absolutely no guidance through this college process and I need to narrow down my options (realistically) so I can start working on my apps this summer. Any help/input would be greatly appreciated :)

Academics
Freshman GPA: 3.98, w/ 1 honors class (due to not taking the placement test at the school I ended up attending)
Sophomore: 4.16, w/ 4 honors classes and 1 regular class
Junior: 4.13, w/ 3 APs, 3 honors, 1 senior elective
Senior: 4 APs, 3 regular classes

Extracurriculars
Freshman Year: general member of lots of clubs, School Ambassador (represent the school in recruiting events)
Sophomore Year: Mock Trial, School Ambassador
Junior Year: Confirmation Leader, COPR Human Rights Club, School Ambassador
Senior Year: Part of group of student leaders who help integrate technology into campus/help teachers and students with their technology issues, Confirmation Leader, COPR Human Rights Club, School Ambassador

Notable Things
- I take challenging classes (that must count for something?)
- I know my GPAs seems low considering the amount of honors/APs I've taken, but my counselor told me I'm somewhere near the top of my class (we don't rank so I don't know exactly, but it's in at least the top 20%)
- I've taken quite a few performing arts classes bc they've interested me
- The reason a lot of UCs are on there is bc I'm from CA... and the reason Penn State is on there is bc I'm just really attracted to the school, lol

Also, I was wondering how many colleges I should apply to because I'm not super rich so I can't afford app fees for like 20+ schools???
