One of my teachers that I know very well agreed to write a letter of recommendation for me. I told him that I would give him the materials as soon as possible. But now that I think about it, I don't know what I'm supposed to give him except the one thing he requested (some sort of statement about my involvement with EC's). Do I give him some sort of form to write the letter on? Do I have to tell him exactly which colleges I am applying to?

Help! I need to know what to give him very soon.

Have you made a common app account and started filling it out or at least looked at it? Get your teacher’s email address and send him an ‘invite’ through common app. Once he gets it and fills it out and submits it, it will be sent to all colleges you apply through to common app. It’s filled out online.

Some colleges that don’t use common app require recommendations to be sent through regular mail, so check if any of your colleges require them to be sent by paper so you can give your teachers the necessary addressed envelopes. Others (that dont use common app) even allow recommendation letters to be sent online through naviance.

Do I need to decide on colleges then? Or can he just copy his letter?
