Help with safeties? Please and thank you!

Hello, good people.

My essay is about overcoming self-doubt (I used to struggle with it a lot) through kickboxing. I'm having a family friend (PhD in English from Harvard) look it over for me. It's still in the works, but once it's done it'll be fantastic. English is one of my strong suits.

I also am currently interning at a UVM research facility under the supervision of a very highly respected medical professional. The study I am working on deals with metabolism and Diabetes.

As of now, I want to major in Biology and minor in English. (or possibly double-major)

If you fabulous individuals happen to come up with any matches or reaches you think I could be interested in, I would absolutely love to see those as well. I currently have Tufts, Colgate, Northwestern, Case Western Reserve, and Brown (SUPER reach, I know) on my "seriously considering" list.

Thanks a bunch! :)

I forgot to mention: I am also part of Women Writing for (a) Change. I realize that this probably won’t change anything, but I figured that I should just put it out there.

…bump…

Hmm… Interesting list. It’ll be hard to find small schools with good bio programs that count as safeties.

Not really a safety (more of a low match, I guess), but maybe look into University of Rochester? How about Brandeis, RPI and JHU (JHU as a reach, Brandeis and RPI as matches)?

As for safeties, Purdue and University of Colorado Boulder both work, though they seem big for your taste… Hmm, University of Pittsburgh seems like it might fit as a safety, same with Syracuse University.

Best of luck!
