<p>Oberlin? I don't know if that's prestigious enough for you, but in our experience midwestern schools pulled out the checkbook for our academically accomplished, music/dance intensive Asian daughter. She's not even first generation or economically disadvantaged--it was all pure merit and probably the school's desire to have a more diverse class.</p>
<p>I agree with pyewacket. Even though your parents are determined to see you in a school that is prestigious by their definition, it's very important that you give a lot of thought to your match and safetly schools. You don't have to make a big deal about them and get your folks all stirred up, but you clearly should finds some match and safetly schools you can fall in love with and apply there as well. Admissions at selective colleges are always a gamble.</p>
