Help me decide what to take next year to be competitive for top schools (I am more humanities/social science oriented, not STEM if that helps):
For sure taking:
AP Calc
AP Comp Gov
AP Phys 2
Journalism (Elective I’ve done throughout all of HS, so wanna stick with it for senior year)
Year of art (needed to graduate, could try to do it online or something but I’m fine taking it at school)
I can take two more classes-- one of which needs to be an English class and the other an elective.
As for English, I am currently deciding between English 12 Honors and AP Lit. Although I am inclined to take AP Lit, everyone I have talked to says it is an actively difficult class (two people get an A). On the flipside, English 12 Honors is blocked with AP Comp Gov and it is supposed to be great teachers but still a manageable class. I am trying to keep my 4.0 through next year and don’t want to lose it to AP Lit but at the same time, I don’t want to let that discourage me from taking the most rigorous course load possible. Also, I have already taken AP Lang (I got an A although it said to be a much easier course at my school). Thoughts?
I also have space for one more elective and am currently deciding between the following: AP Micro (already took macro and liked it but was one of my harder classes surprisingly), AP Psych (seems genuinely interesting to me, leaning towards this…) AP Comp Sci (less interesting but seems important to know idk)/ any other suggestions! (*** I don’t have any language in here because I finished AP Spanish Sophomore year)
Thank you!
