Hello, I've been planning to graduate a semester early from high school, meaning I will be starting college as a freshman in Spring 2011. I have a lot of questions about where to begin, and from all the research I've done, I haven't found much useful information about the process, and if it's even worth it to proceed. Ideally I'd like to attend a 4 year, not a community college, though at this point I'm past being picky and I'd take almost any school I might be accepted to for the spring. The entire reason I want to graduate early is to leave home, and settling in a community college would defeat the purpose here. I have heard that early graduation may put me at a disadvantage when applying to college, and I'm not sure how true this is. My gpa isn't great, about a 3.5. I have a lot to say for myself concerning EC's however, and my SAT scores came in at 1850. I'm not looking into the most glamorous schools at this, just something practical. I am asking for any information on what I can expect when applying. I live in California, and I've also heard that they will not be offering spring enrollment for the CSU's. If this is the case for the 2010-2011 school year, what does that mean for UC's? I have spoken with my first choice private university, St.Mary's of California, and the woman at admissions informed me that they had a full freshman class, but I should apply anyway. I have no college credits, I would not be able to apply as a transfer. Is it worth my time and money to send in applications for this semester? And aside from that, is it a poor decision to graduate early? I am at a loss for where to begin, nobody in my family seems to have any information on Spring Admissions. Can anybody offer any information or advice? I appreciate it, thank you.
