Help with Summer Course selection?

I will be entering FSU this summer as an English - Creative Writing major & Film minor and have absolutely NO idea as to what classes to sign up for come Orientation :P

I definitely want to take classes that will retain my interest but, at the same time, I don't want a heavy course load during my first semester in college. But I still question myself as to whether or not I should go ahead and take a class requirement to get ahead on working towards my major.

Does anyone have any recommendations as far what classes to take or even which professors to select?

Any help (from alumni or not) would be greatly appreciated!

Your first two years typically are focused on liberal studies. Basically, this means math, English, humanities, psychology, science courses and more. There are also myriad courses in hundreds of areas that are available.

Registration at Orientation will get you through (you have more than 1 day to prepare a schedule and then you have a drop/add period) and after one semester you'll be an expert. :)

You are correct not to load up your first semester. University life is totally different from community college and high school. Use your first semester to get your legs under you and then you'll be much better at figuring out how to attain your goals. Never forget to have as much fun as possible.

Since math skills tend to be perishable it is best to continue immediately - if you took AP Calc AB or BC in hs then get into the next class if it is needed for your major(s).
