help with textbooks

I need to buy my textbooks for school, but they're all so expensive and my family really doesn't have the money right now. So I looked them up on Amazon using the ISBN and they're a lot cheaper. The thing is that the publishing year is different by only a year. Everything else like the edition and publisher is the same, though.

Will the publishing year really make a big difference.

isbn numbers are (with very few random exceptions) unique to a book. so if the title matches and the isbn matches, feel free to purchase the book online. it will be the same thing. if its a book that comes with an online access code or cd, however, you might want to find out if either is necesssary. many used books will be missing one or both.

Don’t worry about the publishing year- it’s really only the edition that matters.

you could also try bigword.com. it’s a great site; just search for your textbook and it’ll list for you many different websites to purchase from, with some great cheap offers.

Thank you all so much!

Oh and thanks for the bigword site, it’s amazing. Even better than getting the books off of Amazon.

Also consider renting your books from Cheggs.com…it’s inexpensive (comparatively).

I got away with using a prior edition of the book and xeroxing the questions from someone else’s.
