"To help the reviewers get to know you, describe an experience you have had, a person who has influenced you, or an obstacle you have overcome. Explain why this is meaningful to you. Use your own words and limit your response to the space provided."

When they say "Explain why this is meaningful to you," do they expect you to spell it out? I mean, it can't be sort of implied. I was hoping to just go ahead and write the essay and have the underlying message be why it's important to me.

If it helps, my topic is about how my pediatrician influenced me to want to follow a career path in medicine. I was just gonna do an intro describing him and my visits to his office, and then talk about why I want to study medicine, and then wrap it up by bringing it back to him. Does that explain why he was an important person in my life? Or would I have to explicitly state it?
