help with the essay...

Can anyone please help me comprehend what exactly the essay is asking for and about; more directly, can anyone explain to me the whole interim thing.

Thanks to all.

For the essay, just pretend that you could design your own course & describe it, or tell stories about what it would be like (or experiences/beliefs about why you chose to create this specific class in this way), or try to “persuade” the admissions staff to make it a real course.

Interim is a month-long period (frigid January) between semesters immediately after winter break where people take just one class every day M-F. It’s an entire semester packed into one month, so it should be pretty intense (I’m just a first year, so I haven’t experienced it yet  ).

Of course, there are also some interim classes that are unique to interim, not just a crammed semester course. One I really want to do in the future is called Environmental Psych of the Rocky Mtns., and it’s actually taught IN the mountains. And there’s Personal Finance, and I Want to Help People (social work) and plenty of other cool courses.

A lot of upperclassmen also do interims abroad or an internship. The interim abroad programs are usually cheaper than semester ones and they don’t interfere with working towards your major, especially regimented ones like Nursing & Social Work where it’s pretty much impossible to study abroad junior/senior year for a full semester.
