<p>Hello everyone. For days and days I’ve been trying to start my college essay on the 5th topic (diversity) from the College App. I have the essay well planned out, however I can’t come up with some catchy and creative introductory paragraph. All I have is the first sentence: “I am a walking advertisement for multicultural diversity”. And after that - dead end. I would really appreciate your help! I just need a little catalysis. Here is a little bio, so you have an idea of who I am: </p>
<p>I was born in Moscow, Russia and lived there up until 3 years ago. My mother is Russian and my father is Vietnamese, so I grew up in a family with really diverse cultural values, not mentioning the fact that i spoke (and I still speak) these two different languages at home. Also, I attended a school with Spanish language magnet from 1st to 8th grade. This way I learned Spanish fluently, as well as Spanish culture and history, went on summer exchange programs to Spain, etc. The summer before the beginning of high school my family decided to move to the U.S. My knowledge of english was pretty basic, however my desire to learn and study in regular American classes helped me to test out from ESOL classes the first year. My sophomore year I already was able to take AP classes and I got into VPA, the Art Magnet program at my school. </p>
<p>Right now I am a rising senior and I am planning to pursue a double major in international relations and commercial art. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time!</p>
