help with time management on weekends

I can manage my time wlel on weekdays, but on weekends and on this thanksgiving break, its just so hard to START and once i start, to FINISH!

How do you guys do ur work on saturdays?

And a common thing I notice among people who have REALLY high grades and ECs and stuff is that they dont procrastinate. If theres a test in a week, they start studying now, little by little. I need to learn this. For me, when I have A LOT of time, I tend to squander it, and when I'm really SHORT on time (aka night b4 test), I seem to rip through the material with speed. How can I learn to study all this in advance and reduce the stress the day before the test?

Same here, I actually did some of my APUSH today, read two chapters of it. It is hard, and took me all day, but what I do is turn off my phone, unplug my internet and try and lock myself in my room until I finish. Once I start, I am fine, but it takes at least an hour for me to get started. Now studying weeks in advance is something I need to work on.

same here..any really organized, on top of everything people out there w/ some suggestions..?

Yes, I'd appreciate if any of you would speak up lol.

You know, I think that all of the organized non-procrastinators might be too busy working to give out advice on the internet.

^haha, most likely.

The students that make all high A's usually don't procrastinate and get started on an assignment the day it's assigned. I think they just have more motivation to do it....high ambitions.

For me the hardest part is getting started. Once I start I don't stop.

You're definitely not the only one with this problem.
What I've learned is that you can't focus on something that you resent.
Satisfy your urges. If you really, really want to watch TV or play Halo then do it, get it over with, and then start your homework. Also, try establishing some type of interest in your homework. A lot of people do homework mechanically--for example, when reading, they simply process the words and never really get anything out of the whole passage. If you can connect homework with something you're interested in, it will be a lot better.
For example, if you're having problems with history I would recommend getting Civilization IV. Seriously. If it doesn't consume you it may help you maintain some sort of interest in history.
