What are my chances of getting into the university of florida and the other florida schools as a transfer student with an AA degree(Miami Dade College)?

I applied for the spring 2013 term

The only school I really care about getting into is UF.

I just received an AA and have submitted applications to numerous school and am awaiting admission decisions. I applied as a junior level applicant to the college of liberal arts and sciences as a chemistry major. My GPA is 3.59. And I have plenty of extracurricular activities like volunteering, being a tutor at my college, and a published article on a polymer I synthesized.

I am scared that I will get denied because of my low GPA. If anyone knows anything about admissions as a transfer student with an AA, please let me know! Your feedback is greatly appreciated!

Thank you

Can anyone answer ? :/

You do know that in florida when you receive a AA from a community college ie: Miami dade, that it has an articulation agreement with all the public schools in Florida including UF

I actually did the same thing last semester. I had an AA from another CC in the state. My GPA was a lot lower than yours lol. I got accepted to every state school I applied to FAU, USF, UNF, UF, FSU. If the program your trying to get into is not limited access then your in for sure. The schools by law have to accept you into the University. But not don’t have to accept you into your program of choice. Anyway I went with FSU over UF. Probably the best decision of my life.

Thank you guys for all of your feedback.

Just wanted to clear this up for others who are reading…If you get an AA degree from a FL CC then you are guaranteed acceptance to ONE of the 11 public state universities in FL. Example) If you applied to UF, FSU, USF & FIU, and FIU has accepted you, then even if UF is your first choice, UF doesn’t have to accept you because ONE university has already accepted you (FIU)…The only loop hole is if your specific CC has a special agreement with a specific university in FL…Like I believe MDC has an agreement with UF.–at the end of the road, if all of those schools have rejected you, then one of them has to give in and accept you and it is usually the lowest ranked/easiest school to get in to…hope that makes sense.
