Help with undergrad engineering :]

long time reader/lurker... first time poster

anyway, i need some help ranking my options for undergrad engineering.. more specifically Electrical engineering and/or Computer Science
right now im probably considering USC and UCSD, but i have no clue how good their programs are.

my choices:

USC
UCSD
UCI
UCD
UCSB
Loyola Marymount

still waiting for Berkley, CMU and some privates, but i don't want to count on those for now..

thanks in advance for any help.
and any reasons for your rankings would help me too.

a lil help?

it doesn't matter. Seriously. CMU and Cal are top-tier and more respected by employers than the others, but even that doesn't make that much difference. Engineering is ABET acredited so you'll be studying the same core subjects no matter where you go. Pick the school you think is the best fit for you.

And pick the school you'd want to be at if you change your mind about engineering. The attrition rate is huge, and while nobody knows today if you'll be part of it you should at least factor it into your decision. According to a industry newspaper

With a few notable exceptions, U.S. engineering schools typically have attrition rates hovering between one-half and two-thirds. See <a href="http://www.eetimes.com/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=45200041%5B/url%5D%5B/quote%5D">http://www.eetimes.com/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=45200041
