Hello,
My unweighted average thru sophomore year is 96.11. What is my GPA? Thanks

A+ means nothing on the 4.0 unweighted scale.
An A is a 4.0
An A- is a 3.7
A B+ is a 3.3
A B is a 3.0
A B- is a 2.7
A C+ is a 2.3
A C is a 2.0
A C- is a 1.7
A D+ is a 1.3
A D is a 1.0
A D- is a .7
Anything lower and you are failing (0)

Add up your semester grades using these point values, divide by the number of classes, and that number is your unweighted GPA on the 4.0 scale.

Most top colleges use the scale posted above, with the exceptions being the Universities of California (see their website for how they calculate it, as it is rather complicated to explain).
93-100 is an A
90-93 is an A-
87-89 is a B+
83-86 is a B
80-83 is a B-
77-79 is a C+
73-76 is a C
70-73 is a C-
67-69 is a D+
63-66 is a D
60-66 is a D-
Under 60- Failure

Thank you smartcookie. So I can assume my grade of 96.1 is a 4.0???

It depends. If you have only ever gotten As, then yes, but if you have ever had a B, A-, etc. then no, it is not a 4.0. What you have to do is go back course by course, find the grade you got, the point value for that grade, then add up all the points and divide by the number of courses. But if you have never gotten below a 93% in a class, then you have a 4.0
