Next year I’m taking 5 AP classes, meaning I had 2 free spots withing my 7 period schedule. So for one of those periods I have cooking first semester and I think I have basketball second semester. But for my other period I have College Prep Lit 4, in my school college prep lit is basically known as. and is treated as a study hall period. The problem here is whether taking this class would look bad to colleges? But the class seems pretty helpful, so I’m thinking about emailing my counselor and asking him to change college prep lit to the second semester as the class will come in handy during the lacrosse season. So I would love for a second opinion on this matter. Thanks
I don’t think taking a study hall would look bad to colleges at all. It’s much better than taking an unnecessary free period(I don’t know if your school offers this.Sometimes free periods are necessary for work or off-campus sports though).Taking study hall is a very smart idea, especially considering that you are taking 5 AP’s.As long as you make good use of your time in the class you should be fine.
I’ll be a senior, and I’m taking a free period. As long as you’ve been challenging yourself throughout high school, it shouldn’t be a problem
Considering how full and rigorous your schedule is, I wouldn’t worry about it at all.
