Kaplan Writing Workbook is really good, highly recommend it.

The writing section is the one I really struggle with, I just focused on those sections in the SAT prep books (they’re all over) and did loads and loads of practice tests using the College Board’s online course (worth the expense, IMO).

erica meltzers sat grammar guide helped me go up 200 points

use the sparknotes guidehttp://<a href=“SparkNotes: Today's Most Popular Study Guides”>www.sparknotes.com/testprep/books/newsat/chapter5.rhtml

It really helps a lot. Then, after you go through that, just practice a lot. Go through a bunch of practice tests, and go over every question that you get wrong. It helped me so much. I went from a 620 with a 10 essay, to a 800, with every multiple choice correct, and a 12 essay.
